The European Court of General Jurisdiction in Luxembourg repeatedly recognized as legitimate sectoral sanctions introduced by the European Union against a number of Russian banks and oil and gas companies, in particular Rosneft, for Russia's aggression against Ukraine. This was reported on the court website.
In addition to Rosneft and its subsidiaries, Gazpromneft, as well as Sberbank, VTB, VEB, Prominvestbank and Denizbank, appealed to the European court.
The decision can be appealed for two months to the highest court of the EU - the European Court of Justice, also located in Luxembourg.
Sectoral sanctions of the EU were introduced on July 31, 2014 . Rosneft actively tried to challenge them. The European Court issued a previous refusal decision on March 28 last year .
Rosneft filed a lawsuit in the British court. There she also lost the trial .
