In Karachay-Cherkessia, an employee of Center “E”, suspected of torturing a detainee, was put on the wanted list

In the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, the Investigative Committee put on the wanted list the deputy head of the second department of Center “E” for the North Caucasus District, Rustam Zhiletezhev, suspected of torture and beating a detainee, according to the department’s website.

34-year-old Zhiletezhev is suspected of exceeding official powers with the use of violence (clause “a” of part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code).

The agency writes that in August, a 38-year-old local resident contacted the Investigative Committee with a statement about torture at the local Center “E”. According to him, the police, among whom was Zhiletezhev, beat him, demanding to confess to the crime, and then tortured him with electric shock. On August 29, the Investigative Committee began an investigation, and on September 4, it opened a criminal case for abuse of power.
