The Moscow City Court canceled the extension of the arrest of Sergei Udaltsov

The Moscow City Court overturned the decision to extend the arrest for five days of the leader of the Left Front movement, Sergei Udaltsov. about this Udaltsov wrote on his Twitter.

On September 12, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow, at the request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, added 112 hours to the term of the administrative arrest of Sergei Udaltsov. The police argued the request by the fact that he spent this time in the hospital due to a hunger strike. It was noted that the politician was there in the same conditions as in the special detention center: he had no means of communication and personal belongings, police officers were watching him at the door of his chamber around the clock. In addition, law enforcement officers did not accept the transfer for the activist from his friend.

• Sergei Udaltsov went on a dry hunger strike on August 14 after the court arrested him for 30 days. During the hunger strike, the man was hospitalized three times . Ivan Melnikov, a member of the Public Monitoring Commission, reported that Udaltsov complained of pain in the kidneys, and on Twitter the politician wrote that the preliminary diagnosis made by the doctors was dehydration. On September 5, the activist ended his hunger strike due to poor health.
• Udaltsov was arrested for 30 days, charged under part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (repeated violation of the procedure for holding a public event). The reason for this was the "destruction of portraits of persons resembling state leaders" at a rally against the pension reform on July 28. On August 17, the Moscow City Court upheld the arrest.
• On September 13, the Simonovsky Court of Moscow imposed administrative supervision on Sergei Udaltsov. Until August 2021, he will not be able to attend some mass and political events, as well as travel outside Moscow and the Moscow Region without the permission of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
