Apple has officially released iOS 12

On September 17, the updated version of Apple's mobile OS iOS became officially available to everyone, and many users rushed to install iOS 12 on their devices.

Let us remember that iOS 12 was presented in June of this year at the WWDC conference, and after some time a beta version of the system became available for download.

iOS 12 has not changed much in appearance compared to the previous version of the system, but differs from it in significantly improved performance. According to the developers, iOS 12 allows you to launch applications on devices much faster. The system also received the function of viewing application usage statistics and setting various restrictions both on your device and on your children’s devices (for example, using this function you can prohibit the use of a particular program or limit it to a specified time).

Another change affected the notification panel: iOS, to the delight of a huge number of users, has learned to group notifications from one application. iOS also received an updated version of the ARKit augmented reality framework with support for simultaneous use of the same augmented reality on different devices.

As for the Siri voice assistant, in iOS 12 it can perform more complex tasks. Now Siri can track popular actions in applications and suggest them to the user at the right time. In addition, Siri received the “Shortcuts” function. For example, at the entrance to the cinema, the assistant will display a special widget on the screen that allows you to turn on the Do Not Disturb mode. Users will be able to add their own “shortcuts” that allow them to use applications using voice commands.

Finally, iOS 12 developers integrated the Messages application with the Facetime service, which added a group calling feature for up to 32 users at the same time. They also included animated Memoji emoji, which you can use to replace your face.

Owners of iPhone 5s and later smartphones, as well as iPad mini 2 and newer Apple tablets can install iOS 12 on their devices.
