In Saransk, Center “E” offered to cooperate with an activist from Navalny’s headquarters

Kirill Matyavin, an activist from the Saransk headquarters of Alexei Navalny, told OVD-Info that an employee of the Center for Combating Extremism offered him cooperation and threatened him with a criminal case if he refused.

On September 11, Matyavin was arrested for two days after being detained for protests against raising the retirement age. According to the activist, an employee of the Center "E" Pavel Soldatkin came to him twice in the special detention center. He was interested in the poster "Putin, it's time to retire" with the Open Russia logo, which activists brought to the CPRF rally against pension reform on July 28.

The operative offered Matyavin to cooperate, and after the refusal he began to threaten: “Can you tell me where the poster was printed? Then we'll play Gestapo. True, the methods are different now. We'll give you a penitentiary." During the second visit, the employee promised the activist an “article” for the poster, which, in his opinion, was taken from the press by Matyavin.
