Novokuznetsk: The mayor’s election video will be checked for extremism

The pre -election video of the chosen mayor of Novokuznetsk Sergey Kuznetsov is required to be checked for extremism. A statement to the local election was written by a civil activist and lawyer Dmitry Miropoltsev. He also informed the Siberia. According to Miropoltsev, there is no video on YouTube, so he had to record a violation on a mobile phone during a television broadcast. In the video there is an image of young people raising their hands up. This movement, according to a civil activist, can be interpreted as a Nazi greeting.

“It is clear that this is a cutting of personnel from a rock festival, and not from a parade of fascists. However, the whole question is what kind of movement is considered to be a Nazi symbol. How exactly the hand should move so as not to interpret this as a well-known greeting,” Miropoltsev said.

In the city election commission, the publication confirmed the receipt of a complaint and added that they would consider it within the deadlines established by law. Other comments were abandoned there.

Earlier, the lawyer filed a lawsuit in court to withdraw from the elections of a candidate for mayor of Novokuznetsk Sergey Kuznetsov. According to the documents, the candidate from the United Russia party and the current mayor was registered three times as a contender for the post of head of the city.

In the September 9 elections, Kuznetsov was chosen as mayor of Novokuznetsk with a result of almost 70% of the vote. The second was the communist Leonid Burakov.
