The Singapore cryptocurrency exchange Huobi Global has become a resident of the Center for Digital Transformations of Vnesheconombank (VEB Innovations Fund), the fund said in a statement received by the editors of Vedomosti.

Huobi is not the only foreign company that is a resident of the center; they also include the Ethereum company (developer of the blockchain of the same name), consulting companies PwC and E&Y. But Huobi will be the first cryptocurrency exchange among residents. According to Coinmarketcap.com, as of September 19, Huobi ranks third in the world in terms of daily volume of assets traded on the site. Cooperation with one of the world's largest trading platforms will give the Center for Digital Transformation competence in the field of circulation of digital assets, the message states the words of the head of the VEB Innovations Foundation, Vladimir Demin. And in the future, this examination will make it possible to create a regulatory framework for the circulation of digital financial assets (cryptocurrencies and tokens) in Russia, he is sure.

The bill on digital financial assets, which will regulate cryptocurrencies in Russia, was adopted by the State Duma only in the first reading in May 2018. The draft defines in legislation such concepts as “mining”, “cryptocurrency”, “token”, “smart contract” " and "token issuance procedure" (ICO). In addition, he stipulates that digital financial assets will not be legal tender on the territory of the Russian Federation, and it will be possible to exchange tokens for rubles or foreign currency only through “digital financial asset exchange operators” - for example, such as the Moscow Exchange .
