Ruslanova lived here

September 20, 45 years ago, the life of Lydia Ruslanova broke off.

More recently, she did not need a special performance - she was known throughout the space of the Russian world.
The famous singer was born in an Old Believers' family and was orphaned early. At first, her name was Agafya Leikina. In the orphanage, they called Lydia Ruslanova. The same age of the century, Ruslanova in the first years of Soviet power began training at the Saratov Conservatory, and soon became a soloist of the Contral House of the Red Army. From the first days of World War II, she participated in front -line concert brigades. At the front, she met General Vladimir Kryukov (a native of Voronezh Buturlinovka), who became her fourth husband.

Kryukov commanded the 2nd Guards Cavalry Corps. In the summer of 1943, the corps was on vacation and understaffing in the state forest near the village of Nizhny Cossack. At this time, the commander’s wife came to the building with a concert. For two weeks she lived in the house near the temple on the shores of the Don. We decided to find this house. The choice was not large - only five buildings met this criterion. One of them was on my current summer cottage. For two years I asked the old -timers and, finally, clarified that the other houses were small with a straw roof, and the one that, in my site, was spacious and covered with metal.
On this basis (although this is not accurate) I ordered a memorial plaque - "here in June 1943 there lived Russian singer Lidia Ruslanova." This board will be placed on the wall of that pre -war house, some of which I saved and strengthened.

Of course, her husband and her husband were in this house. But I did not mention it, so after the war this Hero of the Soviet Union was arrested and condemned for moral decomposition (along with Ruslanova). During the arrest, they seized “208 diamonds and, in addition, emeralds, sapphires, rubies, platinum and gold jewelry, Horch 951A cars, two Mercedes, Audi, one hundred and thirty -two antique paintings, thirty -five old carpets, a library of rare German books, seven hundred thousand rubles in cash, 3122 PA of model shoes ”and much more. For the artist, this is still acceptable. But the general broke and began to loot in Germany.
