The third-year student of the Bauman MSTU, 19-year-old programmer Artyom Iskhakov, killed his former girl and girlfriend on the night of January 22, a student at the Higher School Faculty of Design Tatyana Odnova, raped her twice and wrote about it on social networks. Then Artyom committed suicide. Around the killer (and to a lesser extent-his victim), a fan club formed almost immediately. As in the case of a massacre at the Columbine school on April 20, 1999 and the suicide of Pskov schoolchildren on November 14, 2016, the event became a landmark for millennials. We talked with fans to find out: how are similar communities form, are there a hierarchy in them and why does someone even wonder what kind of music they listened to and what candy was loved by Artyom Ishakov and his victim?

"I am looking for their faces in the crowd, I feel in every song"

“Artyom acted disgustingly, and even more disgusting to lay out all [his revelations] on public display ... But I despise those who write that Artyom is just a killer (or a finished psychopath). These people simply have no idea what feelings he experienced. He loved Tanya to death. This is how much you need to be a strong person in order to endure her guys, her antics, her presence next to you and understand that you cannot do anything, since this person simply does not love you (or hesitated), ”says 19-year-old Valeria from Pervomaisk. She draws portraits to order and leads the Public of VKontakte Fogstowm.

“All this pain that the guys experienced, I seem to feel it every day,” she explains. “I am looking for their faces in the crowd, I feel them in every song in my playlist ... It is a pity that the guys were hipped just that way.” Artyom could become a steep ITSHAN, earn millions, Tanya could be famous as a model, get a family, give birth to a child ... I probably just became some kind of psychoma and I can not do anything with myself, constantly thinking about them. I just want to climb into their thoughts, heads, souls and answer the eternal question: why?! Why did it happen? "

Valeria is one of the communities dedicated to Tatyana Insurance and Artyom Iskhakov. In total, VKontakte operate three fan groups, in the largest - more than two thousand people. Unlike groups dedicated to the mass murder at the Columbine school, there are no Tatyanophages in the fan communities of “Artyomo-” and “Tatyanophages”, apparently, neither obvious opinions of opinions, nor moderations: users write what they want. Yes, and as such there is no subculture: if columbiners can be clearly defined, say, as aggressive and lonely teenagers who want to take revenge on the school and kill classmates, then fans of Artyom and Tatyana are a motley community of people from different social layers.

Basically, they discuss what excites Valeria: why did Artyom kill Tatyana and could everything work out differently? But the administration is held apart and, it seems, is afraid of journalists: the creator of the largest fan community shortly after our attempt to contact him limited access to his page.

“It is good that in fan communities there is no clear organization. So, they are at the stage of primary broth. When the fan community acquires a structure, it turns into a sect, ”says social psychologist Alexei Roshchin.

Fans are interested in the smallest details of the life of Tatyana and Artyom: any, even a lubricated photograph of the killer or his victim, is worth its weight in gold. They are dedicated to romantic fanarts (for example, in the style of "500 days of summer"), films and fan fictions. One of the young fans reports that he will be traveling in Moscow and really wants to look at the house where Tatyana was killed: "How to persuade mom to stop there?" - she worries. Others are divided by exciting experience: they managed to visit the grave of Artyom. “True, it’s far away to go,” they remarks casually.

“The educated people of the 19th century were killed over Vertter (the character of Roman Johann Goethe. - Approx. Aut.), Nietzsche was read at the turn of the 20th century, people are easier to enter sects, and now they are becoming Goths and are interested in stories like the murder of Tatyana Insurance,” Roshchin argues. - This is natural: even Sigmund Freud claimed that there are two main forces inside the person - Eros and Tanatos, the desire for life and death ... But with the fans of Artyom Ishakov there is one alarming moment. What is the meaning of worship? In order to identify yourself with an object of admiration. What is the difference between a fan of Victor Tsoi and a fan of Ishakov? Their idols are different: Tsoi is a victim, and Ishakov is a killer. ”

"Devoted by friends, abandoned to beloved"

Most fans sympathize with Artyom. He is considered a vulnerable young man and a brilliant poet, and Tatyana is unnatural and dissolved, insincere in her experiences. Under Tannin posts they still write: “A whore is not only the one that stands on the highway, but also the one that uploads photos with the phalluses”, “Blood of the youngster”, “Ordinary drug addict”, “Standard of the schizoid-Autical psyche”, “What did she have not? “Artyomofagi” explain their attachment to Ishakov differently. Someone writes about the effect of involvement-“like in a movie”: after all, Tatyana did not leave any explanatory notes and it is impossible to see her murder eyes with her eyes. Someone says that Artyom is “simple and humane”, unlike his “forever closing and depressive” victim. And finally, some follow the uncomplicated logic logic: they killed and raped twice? It’s guilty. There was nothing to post half-naked photos with wine and sex toys in social networks. There are those who find out in Artyom in periods of despair and unrequited love. “They loved the guy for the torment,” they explain.

“About Tatyana: I do not share her lifestyle, but there is something extraordinary in her. Perhaps this is life energy, bright appearance, freedom, style and absolute independence from anyone's opinion. Tanya’s fault was only in provocations, maybe even unconscious, because she trusted Artyom, ”notes the poet and choreographer Polina. But he adds that she herself was in the place of Artyom. She is convinced: unrequited love is a true disease. If you read Artyom’s questionnaires in public public publics, “it becomes sad,” because “they shine with loneliness and despair, the desire to take care of someone,” adds Polina.

“No matter what a loved man does, this is romanticized in literature, because a man shows an extreme degree of attachment,” says human rights activist Alena Popova, co -founder of a project for the mutual assistance of women. - It is believed that a man’s love for a woman is her achievement. At the same time, her feelings are not taken into account. Here is the image of Pierrot, in love with Malvina, caused sympathy. At the same time, Malvina did not cause any sympathy, on the contrary: how can she repel such an unfortunate, touching young man? Although no one asked Malvina, she likes such an affection for Pierrot or not. ”

As a result, Artyom turned into a romantic hero. Poems are written in his honor and flash mobs are arranged. For example, on the birthday of Artyom, May 22, hundreds of posts in social networks with wishes of easy life in heaven were dedicated to him. Some left the wishes on Dvach: “Your death was not in vain: you paid for life for life, but gave us so many thoughts and feelings”; “Your death left the bitterness of irreparable loss. I shake your most beautiful elegant fingers and hug thin shoulders ”; “Shine in the mountains, unattainable” and “abandoned by friends, devoted to your beloved ... You have broken many foundations and blew up the brain with your act.”

The Moscow director Arthur made a short film in which the main character is a guy who is unrequited by his apartment neighbor. His prototype was Artyom. Arthur explains: “I had a similar situation with a girl, so I reason from this position. Tanya just wanted to have fun, rest with friends. I wanted to be simpler, in general. Artyom is not like that. As I understand it, spiritual connection, platonic love is important to him. For Tanya, a carnal love is more important. Artyom wanted her highest feelings from her. She did not need it. But I do not condemn her, for her age this is normal. "

For Arthur, the death of Tatyana insurance stands on a par with a massacre at the Columbine school and the suicide of Pskov schoolchildren. “This story reflects the era of mass psychosis in which we live,” the director is convinced.

“This fashion to the vinyl aesthetics crossed the line,” the tattoo master and artist Illarion echoes him. - People romanticized the situation, made their “fairy tale” from it and shot in thoughts a film that did not come out, “a beautiful story” for little girls. There used to be SID and NENSI, but now these. But everyone forgot that what happened to Tanya and Artyom was just a disease, drugs and a mind driven into a corner. ”

The psychiatrist Elisei Osin does not see anything extraordinary in the popularity of Artyom. Fans of Iskhakov - mainly schoolchildren and students, Moscow bohemia and creative party. They eat and drink in the same bars and cafes where Artyom went, like him, visited raves, absorptions and parties. For them, Iskhakov is not just a killer. He is one of them, someone whom they could easily meet on the street or with common friends.

“Well, besides,” says Osin, “the story of two unfortunate teenagers, about which we, in fact, know almost nothing, leaves a huge space for projections. That is, Tatyana and Artyom fans often attribute their feelings and motivations. Therefore, everyone interprets what happened in their own way. For some, this is the story of domestic violence, for someone-the story of the betrayal of a woman, for some-a story of a difficult relationship, someone sees in this political connotation. ”
