Brent oil prices rose above $81 per barrel. Earlier today it exceeded $80.60 per barrel for the first time since November 2014 .

Quotations of futures for WTI oil for November at trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange by this time increased by 2.14% - to $72.33 per barrel.

Brent recorded the previous high of the current year in May, when prices reached $80.50 per barrel.

On Sunday, September 23, the parties to the OPEC+ agreement held a summit in Algeria. They decided not to increase oil production. Agreements to limit oil production have been in force since the beginning of 2017. Both OPEC countries and states outside the alliance take part in the agreement.
