The Ministry of Economic Development will soon become one of the founders of the Center for Strategic Research (CSR) Alexei Kudrin, and the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin will be part of its council, a representative of the CSR said, but did not specify who will head the council.

Today, there is already agreement among council members for the Ministry of Economic Development to join the founders, and the minister to join the council, an official from the government’s financial and economic bloc clarified. The decision to appoint Oreshkin (chairman of the council of the Center for Social Development) , according to him, does not raise doubts, but formally the choice of the chairman is within the competence of the council and one must wait for its decision.

A representative of the Ministry of Economic Development declined to comment.

His press secretary, Yuri Armand, announced today that the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber, Alexey Kudrin, will resign from the post of Chairman of the Council of the Central Social Research Center. “Yes, Alexey Kudrin announced that he intends to resign as head of the TsSR. There is no decision yet on who will be (instead of him), ”said Armand. According to him, Kudrin will leave his post at the Central Socialist Republic within a month.

At the beginning of September, Kudrin said that in the near future the Council of the Center for Social Development will consider the issue of including Oreshkin and the Ministry of Economic Development as one of the founders of the Center for Social Development. “There is no talk of curtailing the work of the Center for Social Development; now the center will work more with orders and instructions from the government,” Kudrin emphasized then. Now the council of the TsSR, in addition to Kudrin, includes Dmitry Mezentsev (deputy chairman), Oleg Vyugin, Evgeny Gavrilenkov, Viktor Ivanter, Yaroslav Kuzminov, Vladimir Mau, Marat Uzyakov, Talia Khabrieva and Evgeny Yasin.
