The euro exchange rate on the Moscow Exchange for the first time since August 16 fell to 75.97 rubles, follows from the trading data.
Thus, the euro fell by 32 kopecks. In turn, the dollar exchange rate amounted to 65.52 rubles.
On the eve of the euro for the first time since August 20 fell below 77 rubles. The dollar fell below 66 rubles on 24 September.
The weakening of the ruble began to occur in August 2018 against the backdrop of news about new US sanctions against Russia. After that, the Central Bank of Russia refused to purchase foreign currency for the Ministry of Finance from August 23 to the end of September. “This decision was made in order to increase the predictability of the actions of the monetary authorities and reduce the volatility of financial markets,” the Central Bank explained then.
