In Elektrostal, journalist Evgeny Kurakin was detained before leaving a special detention center

In Elektrostal, people in civilian clothes detained journalist Yevgeny Kurakin, who was supposed to leave the special detention center after 10 days of arrest. This was reported to OVD-Info by Vera Makarova, who came to meet Kurakin.

According to Makarova, Kurakin was supposed to leave the detention center today at 17:30. At that time, five people in civilian clothes entered the building, and then they took the journalist out, putting him in a civilian car. Kurakin managed to tell Makarova that three of them were policemen, and two more were witnesses.

To the questions of people who came to meet Kurakin after his arrest, the people who detained him answered that they "have a drive." According to Makarova, the journalist is being taken to the Balashikha police station.

Yevgeny Kurakin was detained on September 20 in a Reutov park during a protest action against its cutting down. After that, he was taken to court, where he was arrested for 10 days for not paying the administrative fine that was imposed on him after a clash in the TEC during the presidential elections. Kurakin paid the fine at the trial on September 20, and according to Mark Galperin, who was present at the trial, the bailiff withdrew all claims.

On September 26, during his arrest, Kurakin told MBKh Media that an investigator came to him in the special detention center and carried out investigative actions in a certain criminal case.

He was accused of fraud and arrested, the activist spent 16 months in a pre-trial detention center and was released on bail last year. In January 2017, the court returned to the prosecutor's office. In February of this year, unknown persons, armed with brass knuckles, severely beat Yevgeny Kurakin, breaking his cheekbone and upper jaw, according to the website of the Yabloko party.
