Imported flu vaccines have disappeared from sale in Russia

Foreign flu vaccines have become unavailable in Russia. They cannot be purchased in clinics and pharmacy chains.

Vedomosti writes about this. The publication's journalists contacted large private chains on behalf of clients and found out that the clinics only had domestic vaccines, Grippol Plus and Ultrix. The director of the Doctor Nearby network confirmed to the agency that suppliers had run out of imported vaccines. The head of the department of the Medsi network noted that this clinic has the French drug Vaxigripp from Sanofri, but the Dutch Influvac, the most popular vaccine, according to her, does not and will not exist.

The clinics told the publication that Influvac was not imported to Russia this year due to the full capacity of production in the Netherlands, and the French Sanofri was not ready for this and, most likely, was unable to satisfy the additional demand. Journalists also did not find any imported vaccines in pharmacy chains.

In Russian government institutions, they are vaccinated against influenza with domestic vaccines free of charge; the Ministry of Health does not purchase imported drugs; some of them are imported by order of some hospitals and clinics.
