The court upheld the arrest of Alexei Navalny due to the September 9 protest

The Moscow City Court upheld the arrest of Alexei Navalny due to announcements on YouTube and Twitter of the September 9 action. Navalny's press secretary Kira Yarmysh announced this on Twitter.

Earlier, the Simonovsky District Court of Moscow arrested Alexei Navalny for 20 days under Part 4 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code (holding a public event that resulted in harm to human health or property). The judge considered Navalny to be the organizer of the action, despite the fact that the politician had been in custody since August 25.

• On the morning of September 24, Alexei Navalny was detained at the exit from the special detention center, where he spent 30 days of arrest. At the end of August, the court arrested the politician for 30 days for the “Voter Strike” action on January 28, finding him guilty of repeated violation of the procedure for holding a public event (Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code).
