The artist accused the FSB of canceling the exhibition with stories about torture

The artist Katrin Nenasheva accused the FSB and the presidential administration of disrupting the media exhibition with the stories of people who survived torture.

The girl told the OVD-Info that the abolition of the exhibition "Cargo 300" demanded the Department of Culture of Moscow. Initially, according to her, it was about the transfer of the exhibition and about its possible holding Nenasheva's street performances when stopping street performances, but later the exhibition was completely canceled. The girl believes that the Department of Culture insisted on this not so much as the presidential administration and the FSB.

The exhibition "Cargo 300" was supposed to open in September in a gallery on Solyanka. At the moment, the Gallery website states that the exhibition is not possible "due to circumstances independent of the hodgepodge." The Russian BBC Service contacted Fedor Pavlov-Andreevich director. When asked whether the authorities had a complaint to “Gruz 300”, he replied that “I would not want to comment on it.”

Deputy Head of the Department of Culture Vladimir Filippov told the publication that the government did not interfere in the process of organizing the exhibition.

Torture in Russia occur daily - behind closed doors of prisons, police sites, neuropsychiatric boarding schools, psychiatric hospitals. When I was tortured, I felt lonely, powerless, lost, squeezed. I was absolutely helpless. And most importantly - invisible. There are hundreds of such - invisible people in Russia. ”

• On September 17, Katrin Nenashev and her friend Sasha were detained during the action on New Arbat. The girls were accused of organizing a public event without submitting a notification and left in the police department at night. The court later returned the activists to the police.
