The ECHR communicated Oleg Sentsov’s claim against Russia

The European Court of Human Rights has communicated the complaint of the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, who was convicted in Russia on charges of terrorism. this on his telegram channel . announced Pavel Chikov, head of the Agora international human rights group,

In the complaint, Sentsov alleges that the Russian authorities violated Article 3 (prohibition of torture) and Article 5 (right to liberty and security) of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms against him. Russia was invited to submit its comments on the merits of the case by January 16, 2019 and answer a number of questions, in particular, whether Sentsov fell under the jurisdiction of Russia.

The ECHR notification also states that the trial of Sentsov's claim will take place after the consideration of the Ukraine v. Russia case.
