
Russia has concluded with India a contract for the supply of large and medium-range anti-aircraft systems of the S-400 Triumph to this country. This was reported by Interfax with reference to Dmitry Peskov, spokeswoman Vladimir Putin.
The contract is concluded as part of Putin’s visit to Delhi.
Earlier, the Kremlin stated that we are talking about the supply of five S-400 regiments. The transaction was estimated in the amount of more than $ 5 billion.
The S-400 agreement was signed two years ago , in October 2016. However, the conclusion of the contract was postponed.
In September of this year, the United States imposed sanctions against China for the purchase from Russia S-400 and Su-35 aircraft. It was noted that this is the first case of Washington of secondary sanctions for cooperation with Moscow.
Despite this, already a week later, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Cabinet of Ministers of India at a meeting, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, decided to acquire “triumphs” from Russia.
S-400 are produced by the Almaz-Antey concern, which is under the sanctions of the USA, Canada and the European Union.
