An anarchist from Irkutsk refused to dismiss the case due to the expiration of the statute of limitations

On October 5, the consideration of his case began under Part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code - public actions expressing clear disrespect for society and committed with the aim of insulting the religious feelings of believers. The judge proposed to dismiss the case due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, but the anarchist refused. He also abandoned the special order. Lytvyn stated that this meant an admission of guilt.

In September, Lytvyn was again charged. He said that after the previous completion of the criminal investigation, he became familiar with its materials. In the summer of 2018, they were transferred to the prosecutor's office in order to approve the indictment. The anarchist was not notified in any way about the progress of the case, so he himself turned to the prosecutor’s office, where he learned that the materials had been returned to the Investigative Committee, and a new investigator had been assigned to his case.

Previously, Lytvyn was charged with 15 counts of insulting the feelings of believers, but now only four remain in the case. The anarchist believes that 11 episodes were excluded because experts did not find anything offensive in them.

The first picture shows a middle finger against the background of a church with the caption: “Orthodoxy is our strength.”

The second depicts Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary engaged in a dialogue:

The third picture shows a girl in a dress that looks like a shortened Catholic cassock. The girl's feet are licked by a frog with the head of the founder of National Socialism, Adolf Hitler. The frog itself is held by a boy wearing a pioneer tie.

The fourth image is of a man who looks like Jesus Christ. He sits with his hands raised on the bed next to the girl.

• The pictures were published on a page on VKontakte with the nickname “Dmitry Bakunin” in 2015. Lytvyn believes that the criminal case against him is of a political nature. The anarchist claims that he did not publish these images, and the “Dmitry Bakunin” page itself is not his, and several other people had access to it.
• On April 8, 2017, searches took place in Irkutsk with the participation of the SOBR unit and employees of Center “E”. After this, nine people were detained: Dmitry Litvin, anarchist Igor Martynenko, his girlfriend and mother, anarchist Valeria Altareva, as well as several activists of the Solidarity Network initiative.
• Later it became known that a criminal case was opened against Lytvyn under Article 148 of the Criminal Code. The remaining detainees were interrogated as witnesses in this case.
• Two days later, the court arrested Martynenko for 10 days, charging him under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer). On April 13, the court sent the case for a new trial, after which the district court re- arrested the anarchist for six days.
• In June 2017, investigators tried to interrogate, without a subpoena or a lawyer, a minor girl who was serving as a witness in the Litvin case.
