In St. Petersburg, the cases of Perpetual Protest activists were returned to the police

In St. Petersburg, the Smolninsky District Court returned to the police the cases of the Indefinite Protest activists who were detained on October 7 at the Palace Bridge. This is reported by the Detainee Assistance Group (GPZ).

On October 7, the police detained ten participants of the Indefinite Protest. Three minors were later released with their parents, the rest of the detainees were left in the department for the night. For all of them, protocols were drawn up on disobedience to the lawful demand of the police (part 1 of article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). According to the GPZ, the protocols were drawn up due to the fact that, when presenting their passports, the detainees kept them “at a considerable distance” from the senior police inspector Ruslan Sentemov, so he could not verify the authenticity of the documents presented.

The court returned the cases to the police, indicating that the jurisdiction had been violated and they should be considered in the Oktyabrsky District Court at the place of detention. At least one case from the Oktyabrsky court was again returned to the police.
