Two activists of the “Perpetual Protest” were arrested in Moscow

On October 8, the Presnensky District Court arrested Veronica Novozhenova and Anastasia Klimenko, participants of the “Unlimited Protest,” for 10 days. This was reported in the Bessrochka INFO telegram channel.

The court found the girls guilty under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disobedience to a police officer). The meeting was held behind closed doors and late in the evening, when the court should have been closed. They and eight other people were detained on the evening of October 6 near the Tverskoy district police station. They came to support six other participants of the “Perpetual Protest” who were detained at a jazz concert near the city hall.

Human rights activist Oleg Elanchik wrote on his Facebook that reports were drawn up against all detainees under Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code, as well as under Part 6.1 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (participation in an uncoordinated event that resulted in interference with pedestrians and transport). Elanchik, in a conversation with OVD-Info, noted that arrest reports against them were drawn up only on October 8. The detainees were kept for almost two days in police departments, after which everyone except Novozhenova and Klimenko was released. They were required to appear in court the next day.

In St. Petersburg, on October 7, seven activists of the “Unlimited Protest” were also detained . As the GPZ said, the protocols were drawn up due to the fact that when presenting their passports, the detainees kept them “at a considerable distance” from the senior police inspector Ruslan Sentemov, so he could not verify the authenticity of the documents presented. Later it became known that the court in St. Petersburg returned the cases of the detained activists to the police.

UPD 15:00 Veronika Novozhenova and Anastasia Klimenko were taken to special detention center No. 1 on Simferopol Boulevard.
