According to law enforcers, the detainees “at the direction of their foreign curators “coordinated anti-constitutional activities based on the doctrine of creating a theocratic unitary state – the so-called ‘world caliphate’, and aimed at overthrowing the legitimate government, including by terrorist methods.” In addition, the FSB believes that the detainees involved Hizb ut-Tahrir in the activities and carried out purposeful work “to create a closed network structure on the territory of Russia, to complete the tasks of replenishing the combat formations of a terrorist organization operating in the territories of the countries of the Middle East.”
The FSB said that during the arrest they seized prohibited materials indicating agents, work reports, communications equipment and electronic media. All detainees were arrested. How many people were detained is not specified.
