
The head of Bashkiria Rustem Khamitov resigned. The official said he did not plan to participate in the upcoming 2019 elections, TASS reports .
Khamitov headed the republic since 2010. In 2014, according to the results of early elections, he gained 81 percent of votes.
Earlier on Thursday, the Governor of the Kursk Region Alexander Mikhailov and the governor of the Trans -Baikal Territory Natalya Zhdanova filed to resign.
On September 26, the leaders of the Astrakhan region, Kabardino-Balkaria, Primorsky Territory, Lipetsk and Sakhalin Regions and the head of St. Petersburg were retired. The resignation of ten regions heads before the elections in the fall of 2019 was predicted by the newspaper Vedomosti.
