The Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan arrested Rais Gimadiyev and Ildar Akhmetzyanov for a month and ten days, who were earlier detained on suspicion of organizing the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Russia. At the trial, the investigator said that Gimadiyev and Akhmetzyanov were charged under Part 1 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code (organizing the activities of an organization recognized as terrorist). They were taken into custody until 21 November.

Earlier, the FSB announced the detention of Russian Hizb ut-Tahrir leaders in Tatarstan. According to law enforcers, the detainees “at the direction of their foreign curators “coordinated anti-constitutional activities based on the doctrine of creating a theocratic unitary state – the so-called ‘world caliphate’, and aimed at overthrowing the legitimate government, including by terrorist methods.” The FSB also stated that the detainees involved Hizb ut-Tahrir in the activities and carried out purposeful work "to create a closed network structure on the territory of Russia, to complete the tasks of replenishing the combat formations of a terrorist organization operating in the territories of the countries of the Middle East."

The fact that Nizamov is in the Kazan pre-trial detention center in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case was reported by human rights activist Ilmir Imaev on his Facebook. He is also charged with Part 1 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code.
