The Moscow City Court terminated the administrative case of a minor who was twice detained at protest actions: on March 26 and April 2, 2017. This was reported to OVD-Info by the teenager's lawyer Anastasia Samorukova.
The court made such a decision in connection with the expiration of the statute of limitations of the case under part 6.1 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (participation in an uncoordinated rally that interfered with the movement of vehicles and pedestrians).
On March 26, the teenager was detained along with two friends. For all three, protocols were drawn up on disobedience to the lawful demands of police officers (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for climbing a lamppost. On April 2, all three were detained while giving an interview to the German TV channel ZDF about their first detention. Protocols were drawn up against them under part 6.1 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
The Commission on Juvenile Affairs decided to fine the young man 1,000 rubles for the first episode, and 10,000 rubles for the second. At the same time, two other detained teenagers were acquitted in the second episode.
In February, Moscow City Court judge Olga Pankova overturned both rulings and returned both cases for a new trial, citing serious procedural violations committed by the commission on juvenile affairs during the consideration of cases.
