Opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been released from the special detention center where he was serving an administrative arrest for 50 days.
Navalny announced this on his Twitter . After his release, the politician thanked everyone for their support and admitted that he was not sure whether he would get home, Rain reports .
On August 27, Navalny was arrested for 30 days for the unsanctioned "Voters' Strike" rally and sentenced to administrative arrest for violating the rules for holding a mass event. The oppositionist left the special detention center on September 24, but he was immediately re-detained. On the same day, Navalny was sentenced to 20 days of administrative arrest for allegedly being involved in a rally at which he caused harm to human health or property.
