In Irkutsk, law enforcement officers persuaded a student to cooperate

Artem Yakovlev, a student at Irkutsk State University (ISU), was summoned on October 10 for a talk with law enforcement officers. He reported this to OVD-Info.

According to Yakovlev, on October 9, the dean's office informed the student that the next day he needed to appear in room 404 of the university. There he was met by the ISU rector's security adviser, who asked the young man "a few questions about his prospects." After that, two men entered the office, and the adviser left the room. One of the men introduced himself as Sergei. When asked by a student whether his interlocutors were employees of the Center for Combating Extremism, the men replied that they were “not Center E, but much more serious.”

Yakovlev was asked about his views, plans for life and hobbies. Then the young man was asked questions about the activities of his fellow anarchists and offered cooperation. When the student refused to answer, he was told that he might have problems with his studies, he would not pass his diploma, he would not enter the magistracy and go to the army, where he would end up in a “very wonderful” part. If Yakovlev agrees, law enforcement officers promised to have several conversations with him, and after that to assist in his future plans.

In particular, the interlocutors of the young man were interested in the activities of the "Open Space" in Irkutsk and the Movement of Irkutsk Anarchists (DIANA).

“Then I wrote something like the following under Sergei’s dictation: I, such and such, cooperate with the authorities and undertake never, anywhere and under no circumstances to disclose information and choose my call sign such and such and something else, painted , decoding. To questions about whose name to write it to, whether to indicate the date, they answered me that “they” do not set dates, ” Yakovlev said in a video message.

After that, Yakovlev was scheduled for the next meeting on October 15, and before that time he was asked to return to DIANA, in which he has not been a member since the end of August.

“I am writing down this appeal due to the fact that I do not trust the employees of this department and I fear for my life and the lives of my relatives and friends,” Yakovlev says at the beginning of the video.
