The court released on bail the nephew of Telman Ismailov, accused of kidnapping Abraham Russo in 2004

The Moscow City Court changed the preventive measure for the nephew of the former owner of the Cherkizovsky market Telman Ismailov, Zaur Mardanov, accused of kidnapping singer Abraham Russo in 2004. The Moscow agency was told about this by the press service of the court.

The judge decided to release Mardanov from the pre-trial detention center on bail of 10 million rubles.

“The resolution will be registered in the accounting department and an invoice will be given to pay the deposit. When bail is paid, the decision will be sent to the detention center, after which he should be released,” the defendant’s lawyer Alexey Smirnov told RBC.

At the end of September, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Mardanov until November 17. He was charged under Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code (kidnapping committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy). The investigation believes that Mardanov and at least six other people were involved in Russo’s kidnapping.

Kommersant wrote that the investigation considers Ismailov himself to be the organizer of the kidnapping, who financed the singer’s concerts until they quarreled. According to lawyer Marina Rusakova, the former owner of the Cherkizovsky market, who is wanted, was charged in absentia - the investigator sent a corresponding resolution by mail on September 24.

On January 31, 2004, Ismailov invited Russo to have dinner at the Prague restaurant, where Mardanov was the director. The singer said that there Ismailov’s nephew hit him several times, demanding that he resume cooperation.

Then the singer himself got into the car with the guards and Ismailov’s driver Vladimir Gusakov, who took him to the businessman’s country house. Russo spent the night there, and in the morning Ismailov came to him, “gave money to the singer and apologized.” Gusakov has now been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Russo.
