The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation officially charged the former owner of the Cherkizovsky market, Telman Ismailov, in absentia with organizing the kidnapping of singer Avraam Russo, Interfax reports, citing Ismailov's lawyer Marina Rusakova.
According to the lawyer, Ismailov denies the accusations and insists on his innocence.
- The incident with Abraham Russo occurred in 2004. The singer himself wrote a statement to the police in September 2018. The investigation suggests that Ismailov organized the kidnapping of Rousseau so that he performed only for the entrepreneur and his guests and did not give other concerts.
- Ismailov has been on the international wanted list since 2017, when he was accused in absentia of organizing the murder of two businessmen.
