In Chuvashia, the court refused to lift restrictions on a blogger suspected of rehabilitating Nazism

The Supreme Court of Chuvashia refused to lift restrictions on blogger Konstantin Ishutov, suspected of rehabilitating Nazism. This is reported by "7 × 7".

On October 8, by a court decision, Ishutov was forbidden to leave his house from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. until December 4, to communicate with all participants in the criminal proceedings in his case, except for a lawyer and an investigator, and also to use the Internet and mail. The blogger was allowed to use the phone only to call special services. According to the prosecutor, Ishutov can somehow interfere with the course of the investigation, as he actively uses the Internet.

At the appeal hearing, Judge Vladimir Selivanov forbade public activists who came to support the blogger from taking pictures and filming the meeting.

Lawyer Yuri Ivanov believes that the ban on the use of mail is the most absurd - it can even interfere with the receipt of court documentation. In addition, according to the lawyer, the court did not listen to the defense's arguments about the lack of evidence of Ishutov's involvement in the publications, because of which the criminal case was initiated.

Ishutov is suspected of rehabilitating Nazism (part 2 of article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, he published a leaflet on the social network addressed to Soviet soldiers and signed it: “When the Third Reich treats the Soviet people better than Putin treats the Russian people.” Ishutov was detained on October 4, after which a search was conducted at his home and a computer was confiscated. So law enforcement officers established that the publication was made from his device.

• Konstantin Ishutov is a well-known blogger in Chuvashia; in his publications on LiveJournal and on Facebook, he often talked about his conflicts with the power structures of Chuvashia.
• In January, a court ordered Ishutov to remove eight online publications in which the activist recounted “falsification of evidence by police officers” in his administrative case for participating in a March 26 rally.

The police considered that what was written "humiliates the honor and dignity of employees of the internal affairs bodies" and "discredits the business reputation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Chuvash Republic." The statement of claim also stated that because of the publication for one of the police officers, "there were adverse consequences in the professional sphere, professional suitability was called into question."

Later, the Supreme Court of Chuvashia reversed this decision. * In July, the blogger spoke about the threats of bailiffs demanding that the video about the Ministry of Internal Affairs be removed.
