The head of Apple, Tim Cook, first personally commented on the loud article by Bloomberg Businessweek, according to which Chinese special services were able to force local manufacturers of motherboards for servers who later got into American companies, equip them with spy chips.

The publication said that the first chips were discovered by Apple and Amazon, which then notified the US intelligence services. Both companies resolutely denied information about the spy chips, and Apple also sent a letter with a refutation to the US Senate and the White House.

As Cook said in an interview with BuzzFeed News , Bloomberg should be withdrawn an article that is not true.

Recall, the refutation of the article was made by the security expert Joe Fitzpatrik. As the expert emphasized, the introduction of espionage chips into equipment is possible in theory, but in practice this method is deprived of meaning, since the chip unexploded by the design of the equipment is easy to detect. Therefore, for attacks, it is much more reasonable to use vulnerabilities in existing components.
