The court in Lipetsk overturned the decision to compulsory medical examination of journalist Pashinov

The Lipetsk Regional Court overturned the decision of the court of first instance, which ruled that Dmitry Pashinov, a journalist from the Pravda party newspaper from the village of Dobroye, be sent for a compulsory psychiatric medical examination. He himself informed OVD-Info about this.

Pashinov's interests in the regional court were represented by a lawyer by agreement with OVD-Info Evgenia Ryleeva.

At the meeting, the regional court drew attention to the fact that Pashinov voluntarily underwent a medical examination in Moscow, but the court of first instance ignored this. The prosecutor supported the arguments of the defense and added that the decision of the court of first instance was illegal.

At the end of July, Pashinov published an article stating that the head of the village of Dobroye, Valery Malikov, was detained because of drunk driving at a speed of 140 km/h. After that, Malikov demanded the court to recover 500 thousand rubles of reputational damage from the Lipetsk regional committee of the Communist Party, with which the journalist cooperates, and 200 thousand from Pashinov himself.

Then the head of the village sent an application to the hospital with a request to conduct a forced psychiatric examination of the journalist. First, the hospital offered Pashinov to undergo a voluntary examination, and then went to court with a lawsuit for compulsory. Doctors cited the journalist's "aggressive behavior" as reasons for the examination: allegedly, he regularly harasses, insults people and tries to fight. Pashinov told OVD-Info that such evidence was given by fellow villagers who became the heroes of his investigations.

Dmitry Pashinov said that he did not trust local doctors and underwent a voluntary examination at the Moscow Psychiatric Hospital No. 1. The journalist claims that he sent a certificate about this to the court, but despite this, the hearing on the suit of the Dobrovsky District Hospital was held without informing the journalist about it . After that, the Lipetsk District Court ruled that Pashinov should be sent for a compulsory examination.
