Apple started selling iPhone XR

On October 26, Apple began selling the iPhone XR smartphone, which was introduced in September along with the iPhone XS and XS Max models, but entered the market a month later.

Sales of the iPhone XR in Russia also began today (in the case of this smartphone model, Russia was included in the list of “first wave” countries), and pre-orders started on October 19. The cost of a smartphone on the Russian market ranges from 64,990 to 77,990 rubles.

“Over the past week, demand for pre-orders for the iPhone XR has been strong but flat. According to the company, the most popular model was the black iPhone XR with 128 GB of memory.

In turn, Alexandra Pertseva, PR director of the joint company Svyaznoy and Euroset, said that during pre-orders, models with a memory capacity of 128 and 64 GB were in approximately the same demand (46% and 43%, respectively).

An MTS representative also spoke about pre-orders for the iPhone XR. According to him, the younger model was almost 1.5 times larger than the iPhone XS and XS Max in terms of the number of pre-orders over the same period of time. “Users liked the new product from Apple due to the wide selection of bright body colors and powerful hardware, which is almost as good as more expensive models,” the MTS press service said.

Let us remember that the iPhone XR is positioned as a budget (by Apple standards) device. The smartphone is equipped with a 6.1-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1792*828 pixels. The smartphone body is made of aluminum, while the iPhone XS and XS Max have a stainless steel frame and a glass back panel. At the same time, the smartphone is equipped with the same A12 Bionic processor as the older models, but is protected from dust and moisture according to a slightly more modest IP 67 standard rather than IP 68. The main memory capacity of the iPhone XR is 64, 128 or 256 GB.

Like the two older models, the iPhone XR received Face ID support and the same 7-megapixel front camera. The main camera of the smartphone is a single 12-megapixel module, and the company claims that this is the best single main camera in the history of the iPhone line. Finally, the smartphone lost the 3D Touch function, its place was taken by the Haptic touch vibration feedback, as in the MacBook Pro trackpad.
