The Central District Court of Chelyabinsk arrested Amir Gilyazov, a wheelchair user, for two months because of a video posted on the Internet about the release of one of the members of Hizb ut-Tahrir. This was reported to OVD-Info by his wife Aigul Gilyazova.
The man is accused of participating in an organization recognized as terrorist in Russia (Part 2, Article 205.5). A petition for arrest was filed by the FSB in the Chelyabinsk region. According to Gilyazov's wife, during the search, which took place on October 23 - the day of the court ruling - she learned that the arrest was connected with a video dedicated to the release of a member of the Hizb ut-Tahrir party, which Gilyazov posted on the Internet several years ago.
The 74.ru portal was told by the press service of the FSB that the man is charged with "participation in a terrorist group, recruiting people and sending them to conflict zones."
Aigul Gilyazova also said that she has not yet been allowed to meet with her husband, however, according to her, members of the regional human rights commission and lawyer Alla Dunayeva were allowed into the pre-trial detention center. After talking with the detainee, Dunaeva told Gilyazova that her husband was in very poor condition, barely eating or going to the toilet.
“Amir in the pre-trial detention center said that he had not gone to the toilet since he left home, because he was put with people who believe that it is shameful for them to help him in this matter. They have such concepts. That's why he didn't eat much there, two or three spoonfuls," Gilyazova reports a conversation between her husband and those who visited him in the isolation ward.
At the moment, Gilyazov has been transferred to tuberculosis hospital No. 3 at the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Chelyabinsk Region, where he is to be examined.
Earlier, Aigul Gilyazova told OVD-Info about the search conducted by FSB officers at their home. At that time, nothing was known about the court order for the arrest. During the search, Amir Gilyazov bled from his nose and mouth. After that, he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, but less than an hour later, FSB officers brought him back home with a certificate from the hospital stating that Gilyazov was in good health.
Gilyazova said that after her husband was brought back home, one of the FSB officers became interested in his medical record, took it, leafed through it. After that, Gilyazov never found the map.
Aigul Gilyazova spoke about her husband's illness:
He has a very complex rare disease - Duchenne myopathy, this is complete muscle atrophy. He is 46 years old, and he weighs 40 kilograms, the person is completely dry. He cannot move on his own. In order to move even a meter in a wheelchair, he needs an ideal surface and space. His hands do not rise by themselves, his legs do not rise by themselves, he sits, here, the emphasis is on the buttocks, and that's it. The first group of disability. He has been disabled since childhood.
