In St. Petersburg, an unknown person tore a poster of an activist of the “Perpetual Protest”

In St. Petersburg, near the Vasileostrovskaya metro station, an unknown person tore up a poster and tried to start a fight with Yevgeny Musin, an activist of the Indefinite Protest. Musin himself told OVD-Info about this.

According to the activist, he stood in a single picket with a banner on which were written: "President is criminal number one"; “Special services bandits number one”, “Government number one liars”.

A man was walking nearby, who, according to Musin, handed out leaflets “for Putin”. He approached the Indefinite Protest activist several times and told him: “You’re standing here in vain, you will have problems.” Then the man tried to start a fight with Musinin, snatched the poster from him and tore it.

After a while, the policemen approached, detained both men and took them to Police Station No. 30.

“I was released with a report on an administrative violation, that I allegedly used foul language on the street and did not respond to comments. Although it wasn't even close. I didn't get any fine. <...> An employee of the department said that he wouldn’t even write a fine for me and told me in my ear that these police officers have such a practice - a cane system and they must draw up at least some piece of paper during detention, ”Musin said.

The activist and the man who tore the poster were charged with petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The one who tore the poster was fined 500 rubles and released from the police department.

• In February 2018, Musin was fined 10.5 thousand rubles for participating in the all-Russian protest action “Voters' Strike”.
• On October 18, Musin was detained in St. Petersburg after the end of a picket in support of political prisoners.
• On October 25, the activist was detained during a one-man picket against the president, special services and the government.
• Indefinite Protest is a movement that arose after a rally against pension reform on September 9th. Activists in different cities of Russia are seeking the resignation of the "inefficient and corrupt president."
