Despite the terrible statistics, in our country, people who have suffered a stroke have very few opportunities to get high -quality and timely rehabilitation from the state, especially in the regions.

Orbi is the first fund in Russia, which began the fight against the problem of stroke. The fund attracts the attention of society to the disease, tells how to prevent a stroke and recognize its symptoms in time so that the consequences are minimal; Teaches relatives to properly care for a person after a stroke; provides psychological assistance to patients and members of their families; Provides relatives with information on disability, improve the conditions of treatment and obtain social benefits.

The history of the fund began with a school that opened in Moscow for relatives of people who suffered a stroke. In free classes, rehabilitologists taught family members proper care. Then such classes began to be held in the regions where the employees of the fund with the courses left.

Then it became clear that the country has a catastrophic shortage of specialists who are engaged in recovery medicine - ergotherapists.

Their task is to re -teach people who have suffered a stroke to serve themselves without outside help: wash, open a door lock, dial a phone number; Adapt the exercises that were trained in the physiotherapy hall under the domestic conditions ...

The Orbi Foundation decided to organize the exits of certified ergotherapy teachers to improve the qualifications of doctors in the regions.

Then the fund began to help the hospitals create ergomers - spaces where the patient after a stroke practices lost household skills. In an ergetage, a person learns to use cutlery, pour tea for himself and take a mug so as not to pour, open kitchen cabinets and get food from the upper shelf of the refrigerator. Patients tell how to use the bathroom and toilet without outside help, how to sit on a sofa or at the table, how to open a door lock.

Maxim Bobrov , 16 years old, Novosibirsk:

Sociable and cheerful Maxim lives with parents and an older brother in Novosibirsk. A stroke at Maxim happened in 2017, right in the lesson. On that day at nine in the morning, Maxim called from school, they said that the boy was bad and had to call an ambulance.

Already in the city hospital, an aneurysm that requires an urgent operation became known in the city hospital. Three days later, in the Federal Center for Neurosurgery, Maxim was performed, after which a long series of recovery procedures followed.

Not wanting to sit back, Maxim’s parents decided to send their son to a rehabilitation center to Moscow, where the results were stunning.

Before the start of the course, the guy hardly raised his hand and could not use the most ordinary objects, and after that he began to independently pour water from the bottle, cut vegetables, keep the fishing rod, and sat on a bicycle again.

In order to pay for expensive rehabilitation courses, parents had to sell the car and get into loans, but even this was not enough. The relatives turned to the orbi, and thanks to this, Maxim was rehabilitated in the Three Sisters Center. He is now undergoing recovery courses, because there is still potential, so the family is actively looking for opportunities to raise money.

“Our life has not stopped. Maxim actively visits the gym, is engaged in the coach. Over the year, we were able to undergo rehabilitation four times, and this is very important for its restoration, ”says Maxim's older brother, Alexei.

Vladimir Batlutsky , 63 years old, Belgorod:

In his life, Vladimir suffered six strokes. Once he was a scientist, for thirty-three years he taught organic chemistry to foreign students, issued chemical aids for students. In addition to scientific activity, together with his wife Natalia, Vladimir held a small store of scientific literature in Belgorod, published the Belgorod Grafoman magazine, wrote prose, poems and dreamed of becoming a big writer.

The first stroke happened nine years ago, then Vladimir managed to recover, he continued to engage in science, and got behind the wheel again. After the second stroke, he forgot chemistry, subsequent attacks were deprived of the ability to write and read well. For several years, a stroke took Vladimir and a dream from Vladimir.

Natalia really wanted to find a new meaning for her husband in life. On the website of the Orbi Foundation, she read the story of an artist who, after a stroke, began to learn to write paintings again. Natalia invited Vladimir to try, because he once painted in his youth. Drawing literally saved Vladimir - he not only developed a hand damaged by a stroke, but also found a new lesson that has been saving him from depression for five years. Despite the fact that strokes are repeated.

This year, Vladimir again suffered an extensive stroke, he underwent surgery - the trepanation of the skull. But each time, despite all the complications, he and Natalia find strength to restore and return to drawing.

Natalia publishes Vladimir’s paintings on social networks, asks to support his work, because now he really needs it. She says: “If trouble has come to your house, and the disease completely turned your family’s life, it is important to understand that life continues, only completely different. And in this other life you need to bring together all your love, strength, add a lot of patience, stamina and live on. To fight the disease, to enjoy every day, to look for interesting, to engage in your favorite things, to help others. ”
