In the Irkutsk region, a mourning rally took place in memory of the victims of political repression. At least two hundred people gathered at the Pivovarikh memorial, where the victims of the repressions of 1937-1940 were buried. Half an hour before the rally, the organizers turned on the record with the transfer of the names of the executed Irkutski.

In addition to the descendants of the political repressed, who were the majority, representatives of various public associations and religious faiths of the region participated in the rally. After the rally, many of its participants went to Irkutsk, to the House of Cinema, where a show of the film "Taishetian Gulag. Healing of Memory" was organized.

The Memorial "Pivovarikha" is a monument of regional significance. In Soviet times, a special zone was located here. About 18 thousand people were shot and buried in this place. The other day, the reconstruction of the memorial began. According to the project, an information center will be built here, in which information about repressions in the country and in the Irkutsk region will be stored. In addition, the walls of memory will be installed on the open area, which will be found by the famous names of the dead. During the reconstruction of the memorial, the authorities promise to preserve the monuments that were erected there earlier. All work is planned to be completed in May 2019.
