The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for Bashkiria opened a criminal case into the murder of two children by their father, after which the man committed suicide. A law enforcement source told Ufa1.ru that the children had serious health problems.
The bodies of the children and their father were discovered on October 26 in one of the gardening partnerships in the Ufa region: a 35-year-old father strangled his two nine-year-old twin sons and committed suicide. The children's mother was away at the time.
According to unofficial data, the man left a farewell note, saying that he did not want his children to suffer through life. The boys were allegedly diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
As Komsomolskaya Pravda - Ufa found out , the children had a neurological diagnosis - a certain disease that causes physical and mental retardation in development. It is known that children received disability payments.
The father, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, believed that he was to blame for his sons’ illness, and, according to family friends, he often said that “he would give anything for the children to be healthy.” Until the age of seven, the boys practically did not talk or walk; in 2018, they made great progress in their development, but it became clear that they would not be able to fully recover, and then the father allegedly completely withdrew into himself.
A criminal case was initiated under points “a”, “c” of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of two minors).
Investigators are now questioning witnesses, and forensic medical examinations of the bodies of the victims have been scheduled. The case is under special control of the acting head of the investigative department of the republic.
In October 2017, an 80-year-old Moscow resident killed his wife, who was paralyzed after a stroke and suffering from Parkinson's disease. The man explained his action by saying that he was tired of such a life and also wanted to free his wife from torment. In May of the same year, in the Chelyabinsk region, a pensioner killed his seriously ill wife, after which he inflicted fatal wounds on himself with a knife. In his suicide note, he said that he could no longer care for his wife.
