Visitors to the Glavny Prospekt Art Center in Yekaterinburg damaged one of the works of the artist Salvador Dali, TASS reports.
Since October 5, the Main Avenue has been hosting an exhibition of works by Salvador Dali. It presents, among other things, a series of engravings "Caprichos" made by Dali based on the graphic cycle of the same name by the Spanish artist Francisco Goya.
The gallery told TASS that four visitors to the exhibition, who "did not behave very adequately," broke the frames and broke the glass of two works by Dali and Goya hanging nearby. In Dali's engraving, in addition, the canvas itself is damaged. The extent of his damage was not specified.
TASS also does not write how the visitors damaged the work. The REN TV channel published a video recording from a surveillance camera at the exhibition. The video shows how the stand with the works of Dali and Goya falls when a girl is behind it. The stand fell down as visitors tried to take pictures against the background of engravings, writes . Komsomolskaya Pravda-Yekaterinburg
The organizers of the exhibition filed a complaint with the police. In the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Yekaterinburg, RIA Novosti reported that the police were establishing the damage and the identity of the visitors who damaged Dali's work. At the same time, REN TV, without reference to the source, writes that the girls have already been found and interviewed. They did not have malicious intent, there are no grounds for initiating a criminal case, REN TV reports.
