German Chancellor Angela Merkel during a visit to Ukraine stated that the elections in the territories that control the pro -Russian separatists are contradicting Minsk agreements. She said this on Thursday after a meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the correspondent of European Truth reports .
She called the "important" the fact that Kyiv fulfills the Minsk agreements, and assured Ukraine in support from Germany.
The Chancellor expressed regret about violations of the regime of silence and the death of Ukrainian soldiers on the contact line.
According to her, due to the lack of progress on the Donbass front, Berlin will continue to maintain the sanctions of the European Union against Russia.
