US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of new sanctions that will begin to operate on November 5. He did this by publishing on Twitter a poster in the style of the series “Game of Thrones”. “The sanctions are close,” says the inscription on the poster (this is a reference to the saying from the series and the original books of George Martin - “Winter is close”).

Trump did not specify against whom the sanctions will be imposed. Apparently, they will be applied against Iran. Trump warned about this in May 2018, when he announced the exit of the United States from a nuclear transaction, which allowed to resolve the conflict around the Iranian nuclear program.
Earlier it was expected that in November the United States would impose new sanctions against Russia in connection with the case of the attempted former GRU officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia in the UK. However, at the end of October, the US President’s adviser John Bolton said that the American administration is not yet considering this issue.
