The Office of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights was “wary” about the idea of ​​depriving parental rights for children’s participation in rallies

With the idea that in Russia it is necessary to deprive parents of the right to raise a child due to the fact that he participates in unauthorized actions, one must be “very careful”. This was reported to Novaya Gazeta by the press service of Anna Kuznetsova, Commissioner for Children's Rights in Russia.

“The Family Code clearly spells out the grounds for depriving or restricting parental rights, and they are a last resort,” the press service recalled.

Earlier, a State Duma deputy from the United Russia faction, Sergei Vostretsov, proposed depriving parents of the right to raise a child if a minor participated in unauthorized rallies more than twice.

“If parents do not take care of their children, there may need to be a signal for guardianship so that they take such families under control (...) That is, this is a signal for a deeper study – is it necessary to leave children at all to such parents who do not take care of their children,” the deputy explained his idea.

According to his plan, such amendments can be made to the bill on punishment for involving minors in uncoordinated actions, which has already been adopted in the first reading, and if this does not work out, he will develop a new draft law.

Recall that on November 6, State Duma deputies voted in the first reading for the adoption of a law that provides for the introduction of administrative liability for involving minors in unsanctioned rallies.

The document states that for violation of the law, ordinary citizens face a fine of 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles, or compulsory work up to 100 hours, or administrative arrest up to 15 days.
