Two left-wing activists were detained in St. Petersburg after a photo shoot dedicated to November 7

In St. Petersburg, a member of the Russian Socialist Movement, Ivan Ovsyannikov, and an activist of the Left Bloc, Victoria Arefyeva, were detained in Pulkovsky Park. This was reported to OVD-Info by the Detainees Assistance Group.

Ovsyannikov told OVD-Info that they had a photo session dedicated to November 7, the Day of the October Revolution of 1917. When they finished taking pictures, the police arrived and detained them. Then they were both taken to Police Station No. 51. It was about half past ten in the morning. According to Ovsyannikov, they are charged with part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (organizing an action without filing a notification). At the time of writing the news, the detainees are waiting for protocols on an administrative offense.

Ivan Ovsyannikov clarified that there was no action or rally - "two people in an empty park."

UPD 16:18 The defender from the "Detainee Assistance Group" was not allowed into the police department. In addition, upon application for non-admission of the defense counsel, they refused to issue a number from the register of reports of crimes (KUSP).

The policemen told the detainees that they would soon be taken to the Moscow District Court.

UPD 21:59 The Moscow District Court found Ovsyannikov guilty of organizing an action without filing a notice (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and issued a fine of 20 thousand rubles.

UPD 23:00 The Moscow District issued a similar fine to Victoria Arefieva. She was also found guilty of organizing an action without filing a notification (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
