The first global journalistic prize is designed to inspire and support journalists around the world in their work. In the XXI century, journalism as an integral critical institution of democracy is subjected to testing: the freedom of the press is limited, media are under political control, economic pressure and divided in digital space. Often the absence of versatile and independent coverage of events in the media prevents the formation of a free critical opinion. Moreover, it is important-in any society and in any country-the work of bold journalists, innovative journalists. It is for them that the True Award was created Story Award .
The main idea of the award is to supplement and expand the western view of the world that is prevailing today, which in North America and Europe is not seen in the same way in Arab countries, Africa and Asia. The prize encourages the expansion of prospects due to the view of reporters from different countries.
True Story Award has neither editorial, nor economic or ideological agenda. She just hopes to find and reward first -class journalists.
To Bern for the True presentation ceremony Story Award will be invited by all 42 reporters nominated for the prize (the organizers take on the payment of flight, residence and food).
The size of the prize prize fund is 177,000 Swiss francs, which will be distributed as follows: each of 42 nominees will receive 3,000 Swiss francs at the True presentation ceremony itself Story Award .

-3rd award: 10,000 Swiss francs.
