In Chelyabinsk, a policeman received a suspended sentence in the case of selling a million bottles of confiscated vodka

The Central District Court of Chelyabinsk sentenced the head of the investigative unit of the city department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mikhail Shesterikov, accused of selling confiscated alcohol, to three years of probation, writes Znak.com.

The court also imposed a three-year probationary period on him and deprived him of the right to work in the police for two years. At the same time, Shesterikov was released from punishment under an amnesty announced for the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Shesterikov was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 33, Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code (organizing abuse of power) and Part 3 of Article 33, Part 2 of Article 303 of the Criminal Code (organizing falsification of evidence). The policeman admitted guilt and entered into a pre-trial agreement with the investigation.

According to investigators, the accused ordered his subordinate police investigator Alexei Yusupov to include false testimony in the record of interrogation of a witness in a criminal case on the sale of counterfeit vodka. In this way, the police concealed the loss of 945 thousand bottles of seized alcohol from the warehouse of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which were sold for 11.6 million rubles.

The cases of the remaining accused - the head of the city's criminal investigation department, Rafael Usmanov, and the head of the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vasily Potekhin - were also sent to court, but have not yet been considered on their merits.
