The Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow placed Yevgeny Senchin, suspected of setting fire to the Church of the Apostle John the Theologian in Tushino (Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code), under house arrest, RIA Novosti reports , citing court press secretary Elena Gumenna.
Thus, the court refused to satisfy the request of the investigation, which asked to send the 35-year-old suspect to a pre-trial detention center, reports Interfax . During the meeting, Senchin said that he acted “on the instructions of a voice that ordered the temple to be burned.”
The temple in Tushino caught fire on the evening of November 6. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the fire area was about 40 square meters of the building. No harm done. Interfax's interlocutor said that the damage was estimated at 1 million rubles.
