The Oktyabrsky District Court of Yekaterinburg arrested the head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Pervouralsk Oleg Grekhov, reports . Znak.com
Grekhov was charged under paragraph “c” of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code (receiving a bribe on a large scale). As the publication writes, citing a court ruling, the investigation believes that the accused received a bribe for “facilitating illegal actions.” The circumstances of the case were not disclosed in court.
At the same time, the head of the department himself said before the meeting that we were talking about a bribe taken six years ago, when he worked in department “K” of the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk region. At the same time, Grekhov does not admit guilt. “I did not violate the law, I believe that this is a slander. I’m cooperating with the investigation, I’m not running from anyone,” he said.
Grekhov’s arrest became known on November 7. Sources from Znak.com and Ura.ru said that the case against him is related to the sale of wiretapping to the former mayor of Yekaterinburg, Yevgeny Roizman.
Previously, Grekhov held the position of deputy head of the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region and was responsible for the Bureau of Special Technical Events (BSTM). He was removed from his post when the head of BSTM Artem Pismeny was sentenced to 1.5 suspended sentences on charges of disclosing state secrets (part 1 of Article 283 of the Criminal Code) for selling Roizman’s telephone conversations.
