Victory Day was the most popular holiday in the messengers among residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory

The most popular messenger in the Krasnoyarsk Territory remains Viber. Such conclusions made “megaphone” based on the analysis of impersonal data on the preferences of its subscribers. According to the operator, the number of Viber users today is 11% more than whatsApp and 170 times more than Telegram.

However, if you compare mobile messengers in terms of traffic passing through them, then whatsApp will come to the first place. Residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory send and receive 7 times more data through it than via Viber, and 11 times more than through Telegram (total data were analyzed for 10 months of 2018). On average, one user from the Krasnoyarsk Territory now uses 72 MB of mobile traffic per month in instant messengers.

At the same time, if the audience of Viber and WhatsApp since the beginning of the year shows confident growth (by 24% and 47%, respectively), then Telegram is rapidly losing users. From the day of the start of blocking (April 16, 2018), the number of Krasnoyarsk Megafon subscribers who use this messenger has decreased by almost 32 times, and the volume of traffic was 20 times.

The peaks of the most active use of all messengers in 2018 were calendar holidays. Most often, subscribers called, sent messages, pictures and videos on New Year's holidays, on Valentine's Day, the Defender of the Fatherland Day, International Women's Day, Easter and Victory Day. Moreover, the most “swinging” traffic was the holidays on March 8 and May 9.
