Rostelecom presented a unified platform for cybersecurity services
Rostelecom announced the creation of a unified cybersecurity platform and the launch of the first three services based on it. The platform will operate on the basis of Rostelecom-Solar, a national provider of services and technologies for the protection of information assets, targeted monitoring and information security management. It provides network security and protection against Internet threats in the form of services available directly through Rostelecom's communication channels. The platform is based on the innovative technology of software-defined networks (SD-WAN) and has no analogues in Russia.

The starter set of services includes protection against network attacks (UnifiedThreatManagement), email security (Secure EmailGateway) and web applications (WebApplication Firewall). By the end of 2019, the number of services will more than double.
The starting capacity of the platform is several thousand connections.

A unified platform for cybersecurity services is aimed at a mass B2B audience. Unlike classic scenarios in which a service provider manages physical hardware in a data center or customer site, a single cybersecurity platform deals with virtualized objects, providing full manageability, rapid scalability, and support for a geographically distributed network.
The service delivery model frees customers from financial and resource costs for the purchase, implementation and support of solutions. This guarantees a quick start and scalability unattainable with other delivery models of these technologies. The performance of each service can be increased or decreased almost instantly. The consumption of services is carried out in the pay-as-you-grow mode - the customer independently determines the level of his needs and purchases services exactly in the amount that is required right now. Connection, configuration, operation and support 24/7 are carried out by SolarJSOC specialists. As a result, the total cost of ownership of platform services for 3-5 years is significantly lower than the local use of similar solutions.
The unified cybersecurity services platform is enriched with threat information used in the provision of SolarJSOC cyber monitoring and response center services. It aggregates data from commercial reports on new malware, vulnerabilities and attack methods (ThreatIntelligence), and is also a member of information exchange with Cyber Threat Emergency Response Teams (CERT) in Russia and abroad.
