A St. Petersburg resident was fired from his job due to a long arrest for an action against Solovyov

In St. Petersburg, management fired activist Pavel Ivankin, who was arrested for 10 days for an action against TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov. Ivankin himself told OVD-Info about this.

The activist worked as a manager in a private company. The bosses always knew about his political activity and had nothing against it, but after his arrest they decided that the manager could not miss so many working days. Ivankin noted that the judge, when making a decision on administrative arrest, could have assumed that the activist would have problems at work.

On November 2, Pavel Ivankin was detained along with six other participants in a series of single pickets against the famous pro-government TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov. Ivankin claims that he did not even have time to take part in the action and arrived at the event site when it was already coming to an end. However, it was he who was left at the police station overnight; the rest of the detainees were released without drawing up reports.

The next day, the Petrogradsky District Court arrested Ivankin for 10 days, finding him guilty of disobedience to the legal request of a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code).
